“There Are No Atheists in Foxholes”…

…and no agnostics in hospital wards?:

I started to pray — dredging up old Catholic prayers from my childhood — all those years of comfortable agnosticism thrown aside in my desperation and despair.

Michael Coteau, the minister of child and family services, has tried to reassure parents the bill does not change the grounds for removal and will not make it easier for children to be seized from Christian homes…

But Coteau noted that telling an LBGT teen their identity is wrong or that they should change remains an act of abuse.

OTTAWA, June 15, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — Canada’s Senate passed the Justin Trudeau Liberals’ transgender rights bill unamended this afternoon by a vote of 67 to 11, with three abstentions.

The bill adds “gender expression” and “gender identity” to Canada’s Human Rights Code and to the Criminal Code’s hate crime section…

Existential Exercises

Dr Alan Keightley recounting his encounters with serial killer Ian Brady.  It’s always interesting to me that people are allowed to describe other’s views as “perverted” when it suits the power that be:

‘Why children?’ I demanded to know. He answered immediately, not batting an eyelid: ‘Existential exercises.’

Brady was an evil, sadistic psychopath who considered himself an existentialist, in that he believed it was entirely up to him as an individual to live in whatever manner he chose. He was also a nihilist who thought that life was meaningless, the universe had no purpose, and religion was a delusion.

Five young people died in horrible circumstances in and around Manchester between July 1963 and October 1965, their parents were put through unspeakable anguish, and all, it seemed, because of this man’s perverted philosophical view of the world.

18xx Richtblock und Richtbeil anagoriaOn atheism and the death penalty:

Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte has spoken of his desire to reinstate the death penalty in the country saying growing atheism and agnosticism means people have developed a lack of fear and respect for the law.

On the problem of evil:

‘When a one-year-old baby, 18-months-old baby is taken from the mother’s arms brought under a jeep and raped and killed. So where is God? My God, where are you?’ he asked the crowd in capital Manila .

‘I believe in God but that is my perpetual question to him,’ he added.
