Brainwashing in UK Schools?

Pupils are being ‘brainwashed’ in Britain’s classrooms to believe that Tories are ‘evil’, a high profile teacher has claimed…

But the IT teacher has now come out said pupils were being ‘indoctrinated to a left wing mentality’ and encouraged to see the Conservative party as ‘evil’.

That reality illustrates just how the education system has become increasingly gripped by a culture of Orwellian groupthink, where only fashionable, Left-wing opinions are deemed acceptable. Any wish to deviate from this outlook — such as by backing Brexit or the Conservatives — is treated as a kind of heresy, an offensive challenge to the ruling creed.

A Raven and a Swan

I had no idea that Aesop was trans-species-phobic.  I’m glad I found out!  Here’s the proof:

From Aesop for children:

A Raven, which you know is black as coal, was envious of the Swan, because her feathers were as white as the purest snow. The foolish bird got the idea that if he lived like the Swan, swimming and diving all day long and eating the weeds and plants that grow in the water, his feathers would turn white like the Swan’s.

So he left his home in the woods and fields and flew down to live on the lakes and in the marshes. But though he washed and washed all day long, almost drowning himself at it, his feathers remained as black as ever. And as the water weeds he ate did not agree with him, he got thinner and thinner, and at last he died.

A change of habits will not alter nature.

Will “Women’s Rights” Be Abolished In Canada?

A note on the consequences of state-enforced adherence to postmodern gender ideology:

The consequences for modern feminism are easily noted.  Women like Germaine Greer, for instance, see clearly that if the binary distinction between men and women is not maintained, there is no such thing as women’s rights, no such thing as feminism, no such thing as equality before the law.  There’s only power – re-establishment of the patriarchy, in the pejorative sense of that term.  As Brandon Showalter reports in The Christian Post, women’s rights activists are noting that transgender policies cause the erasure of females, enable voyeurism, and allow eugenics on children.  Mary Lou Singleton, a feminist who is a member of the board of the leftist Women’s Liberation Front, says, “What we are seeing is the legal erasure of the material reality of sex, and this redefinition of sex as a set of, in my opinion, odious sex role stereotypes you identify with.”…

In other words, the state’s embrace of gender ideology leads to the idea that a child belongs to the state, not to parents, whose religious principles are considered dangerous to their children…

As noted, the demolition of the Jewish and Christian faiths is exactly what is desired by the genderists…

George Carlin: Political Correctness is Fascism Pretending to be Manners

No endorsement of every opinion intended, but the point being made about language is perceptive:

Liberals No More Tolerant Than Conservatives

But more recent psychological research, some of it presented in January at the annual meeting of the Society of Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP), shows that it’s not so simple. These findings confirm that conservatives, liberals, the religious and the nonreligious are each prejudiced against those with opposing views. But surprisingly, each group is about equally prejudiced. While liberals might like to think of themselves as more open-minded, they are no more tolerant of people unlike them than their conservative counterparts are.

An Individual Person

“A woman is just as much an ordinary human being as a man, with the same individual preferences, and with just as much right to the tastes and preferences of an individual. What is repugnant to every human being is to be reckoned always as a member of a class and not as an individual person.”

~Dorothy Sayers, “Are Women Human?”

The Epitaph of Political Correctness

Lawrence Solomon, writing December 23, 2016:
No Political Correctness

2016 wrote the epitaph to political correctness, the most insidious of the evils facing society and also among the most toxic. To silence challengers to today’s orthodoxy, self-styled “social justice warriors” on the left have been quick to label dissenters as racists, sexists, homophobes or Islamophobes, unaware that in previous generations the dissenters from the orthodoxies — those who fought for emancipation of the slaves, women’s suffrage, gay and other civil rights — succeeded precisely because upholders of the orthodoxies were unable to silence dissent.

What do you think?  Is political correctness declining where you live?  Or is it ever in force?
